WELL I AM FINDING OUT THIS IS LONGER THAN MOST S90 SEATS, I HAVE A HIGHER FRAME NUMBER LIKE IN THE 700000'S AND IT IS CORRECT FOR IT. WHEN I LOOK AT THE MICROFICHE IT LOOKS LIKE THE SEAT CHANGES AT FRAME NUMBER 646844. SO UNTILL I KNOW DIFFERENT I WILL SAY THIS FITS ONLY S90'S WITH FRAME NUMBERS HIGHER THAN 646844. AND NOW I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE CL90'S FOR SURE.
here is what one very helpful customer says on this seat..
Hello:
I've done a bit more research and took a couple better pictures than what I sent you the other day - I did not have the seats exactly lined up. For the pics in the attachment, I lined up the rear mounting studs on both of the seats so that the length differences can be observed at the front & back. The seat is about 3/4" longer in front and a bit shorter in back. The foam is also much taller than original, as visible in the last picture - you're welcome to use these on your site if you like. The different front mounting is really the deal breaker on this one.
My bikes are frame #133040 ('65) and 573678 (~'68/'69). Honda produced the original s90 from 1965 to 1969, but it did have a spinoff model called the s90z that continued production into the 70s (and maybe even later?). Some of the design bits changed significantly between the lines. This is apparently the model that is most prevalent in the China/Indonesian market, because there has been much discussion on the yahoo s90 discussion group about modern replacement parts not fitting the original bikes. So, it may be appropriate for you to have this part listed for s90z, but I don't have any hard evidence to say it would fit there either.
I really appreciate your quick follow up on this matter, and I'll send the seat back to you tomorrow. Thanks!
Nate
