THE IDLE JET IS PRESSED IN FROM THE FACTORY AND CAN'T BE REPLACED. (I USUALLY PULL IT OUT AND CLEAN IT, THEN I TAP IT BACK IN....)

ON 1978 TO 1983 MODELS WITH PRESS IN IDLE JETS:

1. PULL THE OLD JET OUT WITH TWISTING MOTION USING PLYERS

2. CLEAN IT WELL.

3. IF PLUGGED AND CAN'T BLOW THRU IDLE JET ??

IF PLUGGED AND CAN'T BLOW THRU IDLE JET ??

(I USE A STRAND OF STAINLESS STEEL FROM AN OLD THROTTLE CABLE,

run it over a bench grinder to make a flat spear point on it .

then use some carb spray cleaner as i work it through the jet.

JUST DON'T MAKE THE HOLE BIGGER IF YOU CAN HELP IT.)
