IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A LEVER FOR A CT90 THAT TOOK A CHROME PEDAL -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just thought I’d pass this information along in case no one else has.



On my last order (239063) I ordered item BP102, Rear Brake Pedal. The original on my 1970 K2 CT90 was bent pretty bad and I figured it’d be easier to get a replacement than try to bend it back to stock configuration. NOS units on eBay, etc. were very pricey. And used ones are always questionable regarding whether they are straight, etc. So I took a chance with your BP102 listing.



The pedal you sent, with Honda part # 46500-102-780, looked like it should fit. And yes, it fit just fine, as you mentioned on your web listing. And the black color looked OK, although I preferred chrome, which came on the bike.



I got curious about the paint and scraped a bit off the back side of the pedal. It appeared to be chrome underneath. Long story short, after gently removing the black paint with a wire wheel on my bench grinder, I was pleased to see the pedal still appeared to be chromed. I polished the pedal with rouge compound and a spiral buff pad on same bench grinder, and now I have a brake pedal that looks like brand new CHROME! I firmly believe these were chromed and then painted black at the factory. There is no bare steel visible, and even the welds are chromed rather than blued, etc.



So now I have the correct fitting pedal, and it has the correct coating of chrome, just like stock. All for a lot less than a NOS unit.



You can pass this info along, if you wish, for those of us needing chrome brake pedals.
