@ 5MM CAM SPROCKET BOLTS

CAM SPROCKET BOLTS,

1. OK NOW WE ARE GOING TO INSTALL THE CAM SPROCKET, BUT FIRST WE MUST GET THE CAM TIMING SET CORRECTLY.

2. WE MUST MAKE SURE THE CAM IS IN ABOUT THE CORRECT POSITION IN THE HEAD FIRST "SEE PICTURE 1"

3. PULL THE CAM SPROCKET WITH THE CAM CHAIN ON IT FORWARD UNTIL YOU CAN GET IT HOOKED ON THE END OF THE CAM. YOU CAN PUSH DOWN ON THE CAM CHAIN TENSIONER PUSH ROD TO GET MORE FREE PLAY IN THE CHAIN IF YOU NEED TO.

4. WE WON'T PUT THE BOLTS IN YET

5. NOW GRAB THE FLYWHEEL AND JUST SET IT ON THE END OF THE CRANK, YOU WILL HAVE TO LINE UP THE KEY WAY ON THE FLYWHEEL TO THE KEY IN THE END OF THE CRANK. SO NOW WE CAN TURN THE CRANK EASY.

6. OK THERE ARE 4 MARKS THAT MUST ALL BE LINED UP AT THE SAME TIME FOR THE TIMING TO BE RIGHT SEE "PICTURE 2"

.......1. NOTCH IN FRONT PART OF HEAD

.......2. DOT ON OUTER EDGE OF CAM SPROCKET

.......3. "F" MARK ON FLAT OUTSIDE OF FLYWHEEL

.......4. NOTCH IN THE MAIN TRANNY CASE DIRECTLY ABOVE THE CRANK SHAFT. SEE "PICTURE 2"

7. IN ORDER FOR YOU TO GET THESE ALL TO LINE UP YOU WILL NEED TO SLIP THE CAM SPROCKET OFF THE CAM AND MOVE THE CHAIN FORWARD OR BACKWARD 1 OR 2 OR 3 OR YOU GET THE IDEA, TOOTH-TEETH - LINKS UNTIL WHEN YOU PUT THE CAM SPROCKET BACK ON AND ALL 4 MARKS CAN LINE UP.

8. THEN SLOWLY TURN THE FLYWHEEL UNTIL THE 3 HOLES IN THE CAM SPROCKET ARE LINED UP WITH THE 3 IN THE CAM, AND SCREW IN THE 3 BOLTS, GO AHEAD AND TIGHTEN.

9. NOW SLOWLEY ROTATE THE FLYWHEEL 2 COMPLETE ROTATIONS TO MAKE SURE THE CAM TIMING IS CORRECT,, AS IT CAN BE 180 DEGREES OFF. IF IT DON'T CLUNK YOU SHOULD BE GOOD :)
